Christmas play

October 4th, 2007

In Sunday school last Sunday the vote for the Christmas play was unanimous for “The Christmas Competition.” This Sunday, we’ll pick our parts, so read through the play and decide who you’d like to be. The Web link to the play is a few posts below this one.

We’ll use Sunday school time to practice–so no need to try to find a week night for practice. Phew! This does mean you must attend Sunday school regularly :-)

Get psyched.

Fall Fest!

September 30th, 2007

Tomorrow after church we go to Fall Fest up at Sky Lake (woo hoo!). Make sure you bring a pair of sneakers and a sweatshirt, and some money if you would like to donate to the campership fund or bid in the silent auction.

See you tomorrow!

(Remember, we’re voting on the Christmas play tomorrow during Sunday school.)

September 19th, 2007

Hey Cruisers!

We’ll be doing the Christmas play on Sunday December 16, followed by our meatball sub lunch.  The entire service is ours that day, so we’ll have to meet with Pastor Nick about the worship, but we can do that a little later.

Your president and vice president (Sara and Lauren) have narrowed it down to two choices for you to vote on: “If Angels were Mortal” and “The Christmas Competition.”  Here are the links to the description of both:

You have until Sunday school on September 30th to decide.  Practices will begin in October!

Church Has Left the Building

September 10th, 2007

Church Has Left the Building LogoDid you know that the youth inspired this program? When you all came back from the Bowery Mission in NYC, the adults at Park Terrace started asking to do missions projects of their own. So, we came up with the crazy idea: We’ll cancel church on September 23rd, and send 100 people out into our community to do 15 different mission projects. Have you signed up yet? Be sure to check out the page at http://www.parkterraceumc.org/thechurchhasleftthebuilding.htm

Have you signed up yet?

Remember, you can invite a friend to come along too. All of the project info is on the site, including the downloadable versions of the registration and permission forms.

We need everyone to participate if we’re going to reach our goal.

Fall Youth Group Planning Meeting

Kingdom Bound ‘07

August 14th, 2007

Pictures from KB ‘07 have been posted on the youth group photo site. Check them out!

In addition, since so many people give us money to attend this event, I’d like to write an article for the Chimes letting everyone know what the youth get out of this trip. Either e-mail me or leave comments here telling me how you grew in faith at Kingdom Bound this year. For example, what messages did you get from the speakers and music? (Either good or bad.)

Post soon!

Just a reminder to those of you that have not given me your signed Code of Conduct for Kingdom Bound……I need them this Sunday before we go.  Don’t forget it or you won’t be allowed to go.  Thanks :)  See you Sunday, I’m very excited!!
