Way to voice your opinion, Sara.  I’m glad you care so much for the situation of others, and that you’re brave enough to write to the newspaper about it!

Super Bowl Sub Sale

January 30th, 2008

We’ll be having our famous meatball sub sale this Sunday after church in the fellowship hall. We didn’t do preorders this year, so we’re going to cook up our meatballs and make the subs to order. The subs are $4.00 each. Tell everyone you know. We should be done by about 1:30.

Don’t forget to let Pastor Nick and, more important, Augie know if you are going to the Super Bowl party!

Local Celebrities (Again)!

December 18th, 2007

Congratulations Sara and Gregg, not only for making the Press and Sun Bulletin, but for giving kids a great Christmas. You chose to use your free time to help others, and for that I am so, so proud! You represent your generation well. And when you hear people say, “Teenagers don’t usually use their time helping others,” remember, most people of ANY AGE don’t use their time helping others; your deeds are rare for human beings in general, not just teenagers. You should be proud of yourselves. I’m glad you were recognized :-)

United Methodist Youth Web site

November 17th, 2007

At SPLAT this summer the youth of the worldwide United Methodist Church decided to establish a Web site just for them. Then you guys decided to name it Orange Float. Go check out http://www.orangefloat.org

It’s pretty cool!

Liturgists Wanted

November 13th, 2007

Imagine having the power to  get 100+ people to say “Good morning.”  Imagine telling 100+ people to sit down, and then having them all do it simultaneously on your command. The Liturgists Do you have to be a superhero to have such powers?  NO.  You can be a liturgist.  A liturgist reads the Scriptures, leads the prayers, and does call to worship.  If you would like to give it a try, let Pastor Nick know.  For your first time, we’ll pair you up with another youth.  Then, once you are more comfortable, you can try it on your own if you’d like.

Christmas play

October 4th, 2007

In Sunday school last Sunday the vote for the Christmas play was unanimous for “The Christmas Competition.” This Sunday, we’ll pick our parts, so read through the play and decide who you’d like to be. The Web link to the play is a few posts below this one.

We’ll use Sunday school time to practice–so no need to try to find a week night for practice. Phew! This does mean you must attend Sunday school regularly :-)

Get psyched.

Fall Fest!

September 30th, 2007

Tomorrow after church we go to Fall Fest up at Sky Lake (woo hoo!). Make sure you bring a pair of sneakers and a sweatshirt, and some money if you would like to donate to the campership fund or bid in the silent auction.

See you tomorrow!

(Remember, we’re voting on the Christmas play tomorrow during Sunday school.)
