Hey Cruisers!

We’ll be doing the Christmas play on Sunday December 16, followed by our meatball sub lunch.  The entire service is ours that day, so we’ll have to meet with Pastor Nick about the worship, but we can do that a little later.

Your president and vice president (Sara and Lauren) have narrowed it down to two choices for you to vote on: “If Angels were Mortal” and “The Christmas Competition.”  Here are the links to the description of both:

You have until Sunday school on September 30th to decide.  Practices will begin in October!

Relay for Life

Saturday, May 19th, 2007

The votes are in, and all five responses I received voted for the Tioga County Relay for Life.  This takes place at Owego Free Academy from Friday July 20 to Saturday July 21–save the date on your calendar!

We’ll start our penny war next month :-)

Let me see your funky (barbeque) chicken!

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

Morning Cruisers!

Joan Cook has asked if some of the youth would be willing to be “runners” for the chicken barbeque fund-raiser on Saturday May 19.  This takes place during Grandma’s Attic and the always exciting Tioga Terrace garage sales.  She needs some of you to “run” between the kitchen and the barbeque to refill food supplies as the food is sold–nothing too hard, but something really important!

She would like to set up shifts, beginning at 10:30 that morning, so please let me know ASAP if you would like to help.  :-)  (P.S. Adults can help too.)

This event is always a lot of fun.  It’s a churchwide event, with people selling baked goods and the rummage sale, and many, many, many people stopping by to shop and visit.  It’s a really great way to show how cool our youth group is.

Also, we must officially decide which Relay for Life we would like to participate in: Greater Binghamton at McArthur Park June 15-16 or Tioga County at Owego Free Acadamy July 20-21.  E-mail me or leave a comment here telling me which one you want to go to.  You have one week.  I will tally all the votes next Wednesday (May 16).  If Greater Binghamton wins we will begin our PENNY WAR (male vs. female) next Sunday (May 20).

So, your job is to (1) tell me if you want to help at the chicken barbeque and (2) tell me which Relay for Life you want to go to.

Happy LOST day!

Fund-raising idea for the American Cancer Society

How do you feel about doing a penny war to raise money for Relay for Life?  I bet the church would really donate a lot!  Let me know what you think!

Upcoming Events

Hey everybody

I don’t know about you but I think we should have a planning meeting soon because we don’t have many events coming up except for the mission trip and my friend Nick and Gregg would really like to join us in them :-) They went to the Luau and had a blast! :-D

The New Milford lock-in is THIS WEEKEND!  Woo hoo!  It’s from 6:00 p.m. Friday to 10:00 a.m. Saturday.  So let’s meet at the church at 4:45 and we’ll head down to PA.  Bring your normal lock-in gear: sleeping bag, pillow, blanket, pjs, slippers/flip-flops, toothbrush, contact/glasses stuff, medication, and a smile of course.  Tell your parents we’ll probably be back around 11:30 Saturday morning.  And, as always, Tim and I will have our cell phones if anyone needs to get ahold of us!

Have a great week!

Tim and Kyle: please come to the shift you prefer if you are available on Saturday!

We will be sorting bottles on Sunday from 1:00-3:00 as well, during which we’ll talk about our upcoming spring dance.  We can multitask; we’re a talented group.
