For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.

For those of you who went down to New York City, now that you’ve had time to truly think about all we saw and did this past weekend, what do you think?  How do you feel?  What do you want to do now?  Post your thoughts!  Share with us on the blog!  I’d LOVE to know what it meant to you.

P.S. There are no wrong answers :-)

I absoluetly loved the Mission Trip. I had such a good time laughing with everybody at all of the funny things that happend, even though half of the things were of me being dumb lol. But besides of all the funny things it was a great experience as well. All of the people who lived at bowery were soo nice. Keith was awesome and he made the trip great. It made me realize how lucky I have it. This was definently an experience I will never ever forget. Seeing the people on the subway asking for food and things was kind of hard to see as well because you wanted to help and give them money but its hard. One of the scariest things was when we walked by the woman under the tarp. I don’t even know, its hard to describe. I felt sorry for her and scared at the same time. I know, that whenever someone asks hey, what charity should we donate the money to, I will say the Bowery Mission because they are such an amazing group and are doing such great thing!! :-)

    Out of 10 I rate this trip a 12 :D

    That’s an awesome response :-)

I know I’ll never forget it either. What’s funny is that I felt more at peace in an alley outside of a homeless shelter, or in a bouncy truck full of donated food, than I have felt anywhere in a long time.

The best part about it was that I didn’t feel like I was doing a “mission” or “charity”; I felt like I was just hanging out with others who were there just hanging out, and that helping one another was just an understood gesture, second nature. Being at the Bowery wasn’t work at all.

Maybe I felt so at peace because doing what we did this weekend is how Jesus spent his life when he was here: being a servant and an equal to all.

I completely agree with you Tara, especially about the feeling at peace in the alley. Even though we just sat there, it was way better then going to school or something like that lol. But I would love, love, love to just go back and sit in the alley lol. Its like the Alley of Peace haha.

and Thank you so much leaders for letting us participate in this trip !! :-) I know at times we were very annoying and hard to deal with and I know personally, I whined a lot. Just thank for putting up with us :)

I agree with Tara and Sara, the Bowery Mission is and unforgetable place with many unforgetable people. I thought one of the best parts was when a member of the community came up to each of us on Sunday and thanked us for all we had done to make sure he was well norrished for that day. I loved going to chaple with everyone on Sunday too. It was a bit different from our service and much more up-beat. I LOVED IT!!! And yes Sara you’re right, Keith was amazing!! I hope once he leaves the Bowery Mission, he wont need to come back. He has some pretty amazing stories and a very strong faith and I hope he has a chance to share everything he did with us to many more. I would love to do this mission trip again, and like Tara said it didn’t even feel like we were on a mission trip.
